Shared Space: Roger Allen, Roger Allen, Jr. & Cynthia Fay∼Shirley Fay Sharp, age 76, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN with her precious family by her side. Born July 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Alma Newport and Floyd Sexton. At the age of 13, Shirley joined the Byrges Creek Baptist Church on December 3, 1958.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son: Roger Allen, Jr.; brothers: James Marshall and Anthony ‘Tony’ Sexton; mother and father-in-law: Josh and Erie West Sharp; and stepmother: Mildred Sexton.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 56 years: Roger; daughter: Cynthia Fay; grandchildren: Ashton and Nick Sharp; great grandchildren: Hayden Byrge, Lauren, Lilly, Lucas and Harper Sharp; sister: Patricia (Donnie) Jeffers; half-brother: Mark Sexton; sisters-in-law: Teresa Sexton, Nancy Johnson, Helen Smith and Linda Sharp; other family members, including: special Aunt Elva Wright, special uncle Orlanda Carroll, special cousins Sharon and Denny Carroll; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many life-long friends.
Friends may visit with the Sharp family on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kyle Keeton officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Mossop Cemetery in Huntsville, TN. Pallbearers will be: Hayden Byrge, Kamden Cash, Rayse Cash, Colby Jeffers, Torey McDonald, Jackson Sharp and Nick Sharp.
