Mr. Sylvester Sherman, 78, of Lanett died Friday, May 25, 2007 at Care Center Opelika in Opelika.
Funeral services are planned for Friday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Valley with the Revs. W.F. Smith and Wallace Turner officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Mr. Sherman is survived by one daughter, Diane Wood of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Sherman of Atlanta and Ocie Lee Sherman of Lanett; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sherman was born April 10, 1929 in Chambers County. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Valley.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 31 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home in Valley.
