Mildred Irene "Midge" Gerwert, 71 of Springfield, passed away on January 16, 2005 in her home. Midge was born July 4, 1933 in rural Everton, MO to Roy and Florence (Hall) Jones.
Midge graduated from Greenfield High School and attended SMS University.
She worked at Jones and Company Realty for 25 years, achieving the Million Dollar Sales Professional rating. Midge's other employers included Ozarks Custom Trailers, Springfield News-Leader and Union National Bank.
Midge was married to Don McClelland in June 1952, to this union one son, Mark was born.
Midge and Henry August Gerwert met in 1968 and were married in 1969. Henry had three children that were brought to this union. Henry and Midge were married for 35 years and 6 months.
Midge was a great wife and mother.
Survivors include Henry Gerwert, her husband; a son, Mark McClelland and his wife, Deborah McClelland; step-children, Mike and Jana Gerwert, Mary and her husband Reggie Lamb; grandson; brother-in-law, Charles Hargis of Greenfield, MO; sisters, Eula Mae Franklin of Owasso, OK; and Hilda Montgomery and her husband, Richard of Dadeville, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, her parents and one sister, Maxine Hargis.
Midge was loved by all who knew her for her loving and helpful ways.
Funeral services will be January 21, 2005 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverend Ken Roller officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
