Leona V. Heuring, 99, of Oregon, Ohio died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Orchard Villa. Born in Marywood, Ohio, on October 28, 1906, she was the daughter of Raymond and Caroline (Thiry) Widmer. Leona is survived by sons, Raymond (Norma) and Herman (Dorothy) Heuring, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Heuring; brothers, Florian, Ralph, Eugene and Victor Widmer, and a sister, Luella Frey. The family will receive friends at Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave; Thursday from 2-9 p.m., with a scripture service at 6:30 p.m., Thursday evening. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Thomas Aquinas Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetary. Tributes in Leona's name may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of the Orchard Villa Rehabilitation Unit and Dr. Sydney Fernandes.
