Funeral services for Richard Francis Weyers, 73, father of Richard A. Weyers, and brother of Harold Weyers, both of Pownal, will be held at 1 pm Friday in Williamstown, Mass. at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Douglas Clark, minister of White Oaks and South Williamstown Congregational Churches, officiating.
Mr. Weyers, a resident of 35 Simonds Road, Williamstown, died Thursday at his home. He was a native of North Adams, Mass. born Aug 20, 1902 to Richard Joseph and Mary (Franz) Weyers, attended North Adams and Williamstown schools an served his apprenticeship as a machinist as a young man.
He was a 49-year employee of the Hunter Machine Co., retiring in 1967, and belonged to the Hunter Quarter Century Club.
Survivors besides his widow, the former Mae Godfrey, his son and brother in Pownal, are another son, John of Williamstown; a daughter, Marjorie Doby of Hancock, Mass.; nine grandchildren, two sisters, Bernadette Weyers, R.N., and Alice Norton, both of Williamstown.
Calling hours at the Hopkins Funeral Home, Williamstown, are tonight from 7 to 9. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Williamstown Visiting Nurses Association.
Burial will be in the family plot, Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.
