Mr. Williams was born August 30, 1924, in Georgetown, a son of Jacob Wesley Williams and Lula Mae Baxley Williams.
He was a faithful and lifelong member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and a cherished brother; a man of prayer and Godly character who leaves a legacy trustworthy and true.
Winston and Josephine were married September 20, 1947, and celebrated 64 years together.
Their home was blessed with four children, Joey Winston Williams, Elaine Williams, Ginger (Danny) Wheeler, and Tommie Ann (Eugene) Player; seven grandchildren, Robin (Kenny) Hilburn, Pam (Buddy) Blanton, Clifford L. (Brenda) Cribb, Jody (Cheryl) Wheeler, Devin (Perry) Smith, Chad Wheeler, and Tabitha Tilton; and ten great-grandchildren, Benji, Dustin, Brooke, Summer, Ethan, Ranesley, Keelie, Emilie, Ambry, and Bryson.
He was survived by three brothers, Loyal (Ruby) Williams, Olin Williams, and Cecil (Peggy) Williams; and a sister, Ercel W. Tyler.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; his son Joey; his brother Wyman J. Williams, Sr.; and two sisters, Gwendolyn W. Mitchum and Miraim W. Cox.
Funeral services with Military Honors were 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014, in Rose Hill Baptist Church. Burial, directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, followed in the Church Cemetery .
