She was born July 2, 1912 in Woodruff, Utah, the daughter of William and Pearl Luella Porter Rees. She married Kenneth Earl Muir on August 27, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Belva was active in the LDS Church, serving in the Primary and as ward librarian. She and her husband served many years as ward and stake dance directors. She also participated in the family history extraction program.
Surviving are her children, Gary R. Muir, Patricia Ann Mottishaw, Marcia Tippetts, Vicki Elliot; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Zoe Rees Eastman. Preceded in death by her husband; two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, where friends and family may call prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
