On June 23, 1942, he married Alma Norton in Burlington, PA. They lived in Mountain Lake and owned the Ala-Bob Farm.

Was president of Troy Area School Board and school board director of Luthers Mills and Troy area schools.
He liked hunting, antique cars, playing cards and bowling.
He passed away at his home.
