Charles L. Hunter was born on June 19, 1927 in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. He went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2014.

Charles was preceded in death by his father Luther, his mother Emma, brothers John and Earl and sister Irene.

Charles is survived by his best friend and love of his life for 64 years, his wife Dorothy Hunter, his son Larry Hunter and wife Becky, his daughter Janet Cooksley and husband Robert, grandchildren Melissa Ashlin and husband Grant, Grant Hunter and wife Catherine, Erin and Allison Cooksley, great-grand children Madison and Taft Hunter and Reid Ashlin.

Charles was a member of the Armed Forces, serving in the Air Force during the Korean War. He lived in Vidor, Texas most of his adult life and raised his family there. He retired from Ameripol Synpol in 1989 after 30 years of service and a 60year member of the I.B.E.W. Local Union #301. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor, Texas. He was surrounded by the love and support of his family and the staff of Oakwood Manor.

A special heart felt thanks to all at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home and to Dr. Chad Hammett and Elizabeth Long, Trisha and special family friend Patricia Bieljeski.

Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor at 1:00 P.M. Sunday December 7, 2014. The funeral will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor at 2:00 P.M. Sunday December 7, 2014.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association 2242 W. Holcombe BLVD, Houston, Texas 77030-2008 or First Baptist Church of Vidor building fund 350 N. Main St. Vidor, Texas 77662.
