Charmaine Allmon Mosby

Dr. Charmaine Allmon Mosby, 74, of Bowling Green, KY entered into rest Saturday, October 25, 2014.
A native of Memphis, TN she was the daughter of the late Charles M. Allmon and Kathryn S. Allmon. She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Bill Mosby.
She is survived by her 2 nieces, Debra Boshell of Lakewood, CO and Laura Hatch of Lone Tree, CO; 2 nephews, David Eubanks of Greenbelt, MD and Barry Eubanks of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by several beloved pets.
Charmaine earned her Bachelor's Degree in English from David Lipscomb University in 1962. She earned her Master's Degree in English from Tulane University in 1963. She earned her Doctorate Degree in English from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1972.
She was a cherished member of Community Church of Christ. Charmaine was employed at Western Kentucky University for 38 years. She began her career at Western Kentucky University as an assistant professor in 1969. She was promoted to associate professor in 1976, and earned tenure in 1977. She was promoted to full professor in 1986 and continued teaching full-time until 2003. From 2003-2008, she taught part-time under an optional retirement arrangement. She was granted emerita status by the university in 2008.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will begin Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Burial will be Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Memphis Memorial Park in Memphis, TN.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the BG/WC Humane Society No Kill Shelter at P.O. Box 1456, Bowling Green, KY 42102.
