Stephen Keith Browning, age 60, of Beckley, WV passed away at the Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, following a long illness. Mr. Browning was an advertising consultant for various radio stations including those in White Sulphur Springs and Pineville, West Virginia. He was of the Protestant faith, and had made his home in Beckley since 1988.
Born at Matheny, WV on September 30, 1950, he was the son of Francis "Bernice" Osborne-Browning-Dooley (1925-2011) of Beckley, and the late Clair L. Browning (1916-1984). Mr. Browning was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Browning (Deceased), by a daughter, Mary Anne Browning (Deceased).
Other than his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his children, Stephen Keith Browning II (1977-2020) of Beckley, and Valerie Browning-Lilly & husband Brady Lilly of Coal City; his brothers, Raymond Browning & wife Linda Browning of Beckley, Norman Browning & wife Lisa Browning of Richmond, VA, Nolan Browning & wife Freda Browning of Martinsville, VA; his sisters, Sharon Browning-Aliff & husband Edsel Aliff of Madison, Carolyn Browning-Becker & husband George Becker of Nallen, Sandra Browning-Childers & husband Pete Childers of Richmond, VA, and Leisha Browning-Brotherton & husband David Brotherton of Ypsilanti, MI; and two grandchildren, Jade Lilly and Lana Lilly.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Boyd England officiating.
