Katie Yvonne Hollums Cannon, 78, Gadsden, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Forrest Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Bryant officiating.
Mrs. Cannon was born on May 27, 1936, in Anson, TX. She was a graduate of Floydada High School in 1954 and worked as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell. She married Ralph Cannon Jr. on November 18, 1960, and was married for 54 years. Mrs. Cannon was a member of Lookout Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.B. and Minnie P. Hollums; three brothers; and six sisters. She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Cannon Jr.; children, Kim (Teddy) Hawk, Gadsden, Craig (Dana) Cannon, Gadsden, Lisa (Todd) Huie, Gadsden, Rhonda (Bill) Mayo, Rainbow City, Cheryl Cannon, Springville; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Rosemary) Hollums, Midland, TX; several nieces and nephews.
