"France", as his wife called him had a middle name on his baptism record spelled Seamon. His Interment records spell his middle name Simon, while the grave marker says Semon. But his maternal Grandfather, Simon Jensen, who died in Denmark would have pronounced his own name 'Seamon', so that may be where the confusion comes from. The baptism record is the only legal document we have found from when he was alive that spells out a middle name.
Francis learned Blacksmithing from his father and was a carpenter and cabinet maker by trade.
