Rosamond J. Lackey, 75, Shelbyville, died on Thursday, Auguust 1, 1996 at Butteworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, Mich.

Mrs. Lackey was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Darley and Hazel (Wright) Douthit. In 1938, she married Verle Lackey, who preceded her in death in 1971.

Mrs. Lackey was a nurse's aide at Major Hospital for more than 30 years, retiring in 1986.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Lackey, Wyoming, Mich., and Brad Lackey, Fort Wayne; two brothers, Duane Douthit, Houston, and John Douthit, St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Joan) Myers, Shelbyville; and six grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home.

Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends called from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
