Dolly Johanna Slusher, 86, Overland Park, Kan., passed away July 26, 2011. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home with funeral services following at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Mrs. Slusher was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Golden City, Mo. Born and raised in Golden City, she moved to KC in the 1940s where she became chief phone operator for Southwestern Bell. She met and married Harry Slusher in 1950. She ran the school cafeteria in Stilwell, Kan., for over 10 years and moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 1973, where she loved to fish and play golf. She lived there for 26 years before moving to Raymore, Mo., in 2000 and because of her love for people became a Wal-mart door greeter until she was 80 years old! She moved to Overland Park in 2007 to be close to her daughter. Dolly was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Raymore. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Harry R. Slusher; both parents and all nine of her siblings. Survivors include her daughter, Jana Klosterman and husband Kurt; her son, Steven Slusher and wife Betty; five adoring grandchildren and one great granddaughter, Katie Klosterman, her pride and joy and companion/friend, Richard Tarbel.
