She first married Elisah Moore who enlisted on July 20, 1861 at Mosey Creek, Tennesssee. She and E. H. Moore had six children. After his death, she then married John McGaffey, a confederate soldier, who is buried in Luling, Texas.
Agnes McGaffey was admitted to the Confederate Women's Home on February 9, 1951. She died on April 19, 1962, and was buried in the Texas State Cemetery two days later.
