David Burton, Jr. -MACON - Funeral services for David "Uncle Dave" Burton will be at 3:30P.M. Thursday in Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church. Interment will follow in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Mr. Burton, 80, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006, at a local hospital, after an extended illness. -Mr. Burton was born in Macon to the parentage of the late David Burton, Sr. and Blanche Chambliss Burton. He was educated in Bibb County public schools and the Detroit School of Arts where he was trained as a classical pianist and soloist. He was a Detroit, Michigan resident for over thirty-seven years before returning to Macon in 1968. -Mr. Burton was retired from Middle Georgia Hospital and Coliseum Hospital. He was a devoted member of Greater Allen A.M.E. Church. -Survivors include his nephews and niece, Eugene Harper, James Anderson, George Threatt and Joyce Clark; his Coliseum Hospital Family; and a host of other relatives and friends. -The family may be contacted at the residence of Mr. Eugene Harper, 1832 Second Street, Macon. -Jones Brothers Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
