Found in The State 20 February 1977: Louie W. Conder, 72, of 6719 Trenholm Road, former chairman of the Board of Trustees of Richland County School District 2, died in a local hospital Saturday. Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late J. W. and Laura Beatrice Welsh Conder. He was one of the first livestock auctioneers in the state and was also a member of the S. C. Forestry Commission for 36 years. Mr. Conder was also a member and past master of the Eau Claire Masonic Lodge 344 and the Rotary Club. The Louie W. Conder Elementary School was named in his honor. He was one married to the late Nathalie K. Conder. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Frances Roddey Conder; three sisters, Mrs. Fletcher Morgan of Myrtle Beach, Mrs. Charlie Altman of Newberry and Mrs. Harold Wrenn of Columbia; a son, Louie W. Conder Jr.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
