Cvetko Simich immigrated to the United States in October of 1920 settling first in St Louis, Missouri, later in Valier, Illinois, and in 1926, to Eldorado, Illinois after purchasing, with two partners, the Town Bakery. He also operated the Valier Baking Company from 1923 until it was sold in 1952. He later renamed the Town Bakery to the American Baking Company. Mr. Simich became a naturalized American citizen in 1940. He made several trips back to his homeland with the final trip in 1956, with his wife, Cira, who also had immigrated to the United States in 1952. Mr. Simich, had two sisters, Petra Javanovic and Tapka Matich and one brother, Tevdo Simich. His four children were Boris, Sava, Bosco and Jovo. Both Bosco and Jovo became naturalized US citizens as well and later operated the family business until 1973.
