Effie Koehn, 103, died November 20, 2014 at Bethel Home in Montezuma.

She was born on October 7, 1911 in Hesston, the daughter of Jesse and Carrie (Becker) Loucks.

Effie attended the Copeland Country School.

On March 12, 1933, she married Vivan Koehn at Copeland. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2001.

Effie worked for at time for the Ingalls School District in the cafeteria.

She and Vivan served in the Dodge City Mission Church for six years.

Effie enjoyed working with the children and the families at the Mission Church.

She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and gardening.

Effie's children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren brought a great deal of joy to her life. She loved having them visit and always wanted to have them stay longer.

She was a member of the Homeland Mennonite Church of Montezuma.
