Death of Douglas Stewart Letcher
On Friday last death claimed as its victim Douglas Stewart, the thirteenth child of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Letcher. Apparently he was in good health until Monday previous, when he was taken suddenly ill and despite all that medical skill and careful nursing could do, he rallied until Friday afternoon at 3.15, when the spirit took its flight. He was a bright, intelligent little boy of three years and eight and a half months. Being of a pleasant disposition he had endeared himself to all who knew him.
The funeral on Sunday last was very largely attended, many turning out to pay their last tribute of respect to one who was loved so dearly. The service at the house, conducted by Rev. Mr. Perley, pastor of the Methodist church, was very sympathetic....
