Obituary:

Tonie Solomon Jones was born Sept. 21, 1890 in Worth County, and departed this life Nov. 2 at the Worth County Convalescent Center in Grant City, at the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 12 days.

He was the son of Marvel and Mary Steele Jones.

On Sept. 15, 1913 he was united in marriage to Lottie Ethel Glick. To this union 12 children were born. Tonie was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Worth and Harrison County areas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie, his parents, 10 brothers and sisters, and one grandchild.

He is survived by seven sons: Truman of Grant City, Mo., Leslie of Osborn, Mo., Cheslie of Peoria, Ariz., Dale of Hatfield, Mo., Francis (Bud) of St. Joseph, Mo., Robert of Martinsville, Mo., and Larry of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; five daughters: Mildred Smith of Hatfield, Mo., Betty Thrasher of Grant City, Mo., Ruth Meadows of Kenny, Ill., Opal Guernsey of Bethany, Mo., and Donna Hill of Martinsville, Mo.; 31 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving him are several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were from the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home Friday, Nov. 5 at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Dr. Leland May with interment in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Denver.
