Dale Lee “Nigel” Grigsby was born January 16, 1950 at Seward, Nebraska, the son of John Paul and Goldie Florence (Brandenburgh) Grigsby and passed away on October 9, 2014 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 64 years, 10 months, 23 days. Dale was a 1968 graduate of Seward High School and a 1972 graduate of the Minneapolis School of Fine Arts. He traveled extensively in Europe and the United States. Dale was a lifelong artist, writer, poet and community activist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Goldie Grisby and his sister-in-law, LeAnn Grigsby.
Survivors include his brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas of Seward, Dr. Donald and Judith Grigsby of Columbus, Georgia; a niece, Becky Banks, and nephew, Eric Grigsby; his life partner, Gregory VanderPloeg; other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services were held Friday, October 17, 2014 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Inurnment in the Seward Cemetery, Seward, Nebraska. Memorials maybe directed to the Grigsby family % Zabka Funeral Home, Seward.
