Larry was the son of Ernest Noble and Verda Atherton Bates.He married Margaret H Bladbach on May 24, 1975, and she preceded him in death in 2009.

Larry was A US Army Veteran, and worked as a equipment operator for Missouri Department of Transportation for over 40 years.

He was a member of the St Joseph Catholic Church in rural Mendon, and an area resident all his life.

He is survived by four children and their spouses, Sarah and Brian Stallo, Rachael and Jason Jarvis, Raymond and Stacy Thompson, and Kevin and Janet Thompson, two sisters, Ernestine Martin, and, Patricis Keith, nine grandchildren, Mikeal, Jacee, Dylan, Brandon, Kristn, Nicholas, Cate, Jude and Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Susan Bates, and brother, Robert F (Bobby) Bates.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, Nov 19, 2014 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline.Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery in rural Mendon. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Tues Nov 18, 2014 at the funeral home in Marceline.
