Schoenchen -- John J. Sander, 85, Schoenchen, a retired farmer, died Thursday at St. Anthony Hospital.

He farmed at Hyacinth until 1964 and was organist at St. John the Baptist Church there for nine years.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Isador (Agatha) Hammersmith, Gorham, Mrs. Albertine Schmidtberger, Victoria, Leona Sander of the home; one brother, Alex, Victoria; and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Billinger and Mrs. Anna Leiker, Victoria; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Church, Victoria, with burial in the church cemetery. The parish wake service with the Knights of Columbus rosary, will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Cline’s Mortuary, Victoria. Friends may call at the mortuary after 7 p.m. Thursday.
