Julia Mae Nesmith was born in Cleburne Texas on 27 Nov. 1898, to John Wesley and Donia Bell Boswell Nesmith. She was the oldest of six siblings, Clarence, Myrtle R., Beulah Hohn Theadore, James B. and Juanita P.. Their family moved back and forth between Oklahoma and Texas.
On 17 Sept. 1916, she was married to Levi Jackson "Jack" Deering in Lakeview, Tx. They moved to Jack's homestead in Olive, New Mexico. Their oldest two children Glendon Jackson and Juanita Mae were born in New Mexico. They moved back to Oklahoma, where Wanda Jarita and Harold were born.
When Harold was 1 year old, tragady struck when Juantia and Wanda were killed in an auto accident and were buried in Reed, Oklahoma in January, 1938.
The family moved to Pampa, Texas where they resided for several years. They moved back to Mangum Oklahoma where Jack passed away in 1977. Julia passed away in Dallas, TX. on 30 Sept., 1988 and was buried beside her husband Jack in the Reed Cemetery, Reed, Greer, Oklahoma, USA.
