She was united in marriage to Walter Casten on February 18, 1914. To this union were born two children. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Decorah area and later farmed in the Postville and Monona areas before retiring in Postville. She was preceded in death by one son, who died in infancy; one daughter, Romelda, who died at the age of 13; her parents; a twin sister, who died in infancy; two brothers, Henry of Waterloo and John of Ossian.
She is survived by her husband, two brothers, Edward and Louis of Postville, and many other relatives and friends. She was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral Friday. Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Postville on Friday, September 21, at 2:00, with the Rev. Charles E. Witt officiating. Burial was in Postville Cemetery.
