A funeral service honoring the life of Imogene “G-Ma” Dove, 87, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, where G-Ma will once again be next to her beloved husband. A visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. G-Ma passed peacefully this Wednesday morning, Nov. 5, 2014. Her remaining years were under the devoted care of Annie Cotrau, RN at Grace Memory Care, an intimate 9-resident private home in Spring, TX, only minutes away from family. This allowed us to easily enjoy her company in the garden she came to love.

Born in Haughton, LA, on May 6, 1927, to honored parents, Elighu and Glinney Stewart Baker. In 1979, Imogene married Jurlee “Jerry” Dove, and together spent years upon years enjoying retirement in Carthage and on Lake Murvaul. G-Ma was a loving sister, wife, and grandmother, always keeping busy with bowling, spending Saturday nights dancing at the VFW, working in the garden, and making her amazing Cajun meals from scratch. Imogene Dove was an active lifetime member of the Henderson V.F.W. Post #8535 Ladies Auxiliary, serving as Vice-President, Jr. Treasure, and Chaplin. G-Ma was also a member of the FBC JOY Choir and the USBC Woman’s Bowling Association. And as everyone knows G-Ma enjoyed spending holidays and summers teaching and loving her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dove; one daughter, Peggi Ferri; and 6 siblings, Linda Dowling, Dorothy Brantley, William Baker, L.C. Baker, Bobby Baker, and Kenneth Baker.

She is survived by her sister, Lillian Crone and her children, Angela Gaug, Rene’e Dove and Terry Dove. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Sylvia Steen, Robert Ilkenhans, Collat Suarez, Joseph Ferri, John Suarez, Davien Pendley, Zoe White, Marcus Lopez, Kandice Pendley, and T.J. Pendley; and further blessed with 21 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and 13 nieces and nephews.
