Robert F. Miller, 82, died Tuesday, November 4, 2014, peacefully at home with family at his side. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Lawrence) Miller, who died September 1, 2010.
Bob, as he was better known, was born May 30, 1932, in New Oxford, the son of the late Joseph M. and Hilda F. (Martin) Miller.
Bob was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was also a member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, and the McSherrystown Home Association.
Bob is survived by a son, Robert A. Miller and his wife, Kathy of New Oxford; a daughter, Lydia V. Mummert and her husband, Greg of New Oxford; a son, Randy A. Miller and his wife, Wina of Hanover; a daughter, Lisa V. Claybaugh and her husband, Dave of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Lori V. Miller and her fiance, Steve Bell of Westminster, Md.; a son, Ricky A. Miller and his wife, Colby of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Leigh V. Miller and her fiance, Jim Gugliette of Spring Grove; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Miller of Abbottstown; and two sisters, Theresa Hertz and husband, Charlie, and Doris Lawrence, both of New Oxford. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Miller and Rev. Paul Miller; and three sisters, Mary Ellen Miller, Arlene Miller, and Helen Wolf.
Following cremation, a memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, with the Rev. Michael Letteer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
