LEWIS BOWSHER

MONTICELLO--Lewis Bowsher, 93, Buffalo, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday in Tioga Pines Living Center.

He was born Oct. 1, 1895, in White County to Allen and Belle Connell Bowsher. He was married Dec. 25, 1918, to Nora "Node" Cossel, who died June 7, 1982.

He had lived in the Buffalo community most of his life.

He had operated a service station for several years in Buffalo. He also had operated a bait shop and had conducted float trips on the Tippecanoe River.

He was a hunter, fisherman and trapper.

He was a member of Buffalo Christian Church.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War I.

He was a member of Monon American Legion.

Surviving are a sister, Mabel Moore, Monticello; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

A son, a sister, and two brothers preceded in death.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, with Frank Hicks officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in Buffalo Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
