Everett F. Bushong
DUNKIRK — Services for Everett F. Bushong, 91, of Dunkirk, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 at Price Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St. Kenton, with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial will be in Dunkirk Cemetery with Military graveside rites by Amvets Post 1994. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014.
He died Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 at his residence. He was born on Feb. 5, 1923 in Williamstown to the late Marion U. and M. Marie (Steinman) Bushong. On June 23, 1943, he married Donna Odean Smith and she preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 2010.
Surviving are three daughters: Sharon B. (Frank) Stieg of Winter Park, FL, Kay L. (Kenny) McAlpine of Dunkirk, and Lynette M. (Arne) Morris of Antelope Hills, CA, five grandchildren: Shannon, Megan, and Gretchen Stieg, Heather (Greg) Hanchuk, and Carson Morris, and two great-grandsons: Andrew and Nikolai.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Sue Bushong, two brothers: Lester E. and Harold J. Bushong, and three sisters: Catherine (Bushong) Leatherberry, Irene Bushong, and E. Lucille (Bushong) Eichhorn.
Everett retired from Rockwell after 20 years. Before that he was a tool and die maker, and he worked for Lennox and Oldaker.
He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII and a member of the Dunkirk VFW.
Everett’s hobbies included flowers, gardening, and camping at Sulfer Lake.
