--Lockjaw causes the death of Vernie Dryden, the 2-year-old son of Gestring Dryden and wife, living on the Davis farm, near Forest City, Mo., Friday, June 21, 1912, at the Sisters' Hospital in St. Joseph, and the body was taken to Forest City Saturday for burial. Several days ago the little fellow ran a nail into his left knee, while playing. Tetanus followed, and the parents took the child to St. Joseph, where he was given the Serum treatment, but without avail, and death was the result. The parents have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their bereavement.
