Patricia Davis Griffin, 87, affectionately known as "MP" (Mama Pat) by family and friends, passed away early Thursday, October 30, 2014 after many months of declining health. Pat made her home in Raleigh, where she had lots of friends and enjoyed being in their company.
Pat was born in Wake County to the late William Albert Davis and Madge Jones Davis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Willard Griffin, Sr.; and sisters: Eloise Wilkinson and Marie Poole.
MP worked for many years with her husband at Griffin's Longview Exxon. She retired from the business office of Wake Medical Center. She was a member of Vision Baptist Church.
Funeral service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Vision Baptist Church, 7633 Buffaloe Road, Raleigh, NC 27616 with Dr. Alfred Wright officiating. Burial: Old Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery, Griffin Plot. The family will visit prior to the service from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Surviving: daughter, Patsy Stephenson (Danny) of Knightdale; son, Jim Griffin, Jr. (Debbie) of Wendell; grandchildren: Holly S. Cossette (Jason), Brian Stephenson (Erin); great-grandchildren: Katie, Emily, Will and Russ; brothers: Sam Davis (Virginia) of Wendell, Charles Davis (Harriet) of Knightdale.
