They had a family of six children, five of whom are now living -- Isaiah (deceased), Mary C., Solomon S., Alvin H., William O., and Bennet.
Mr. Whitmer followed the business of farming the greater part of his life, and died in 1876. He was a consistent member of the Lutheran Church. At the time of his death he owned a farm of 102 acres.

Farmer. Wife Rebecca Boyer. Son Alvin Henry Whitmer left home around the age of 17 and went West. Lived in Kansas, Indian Territory and Missouri, where he died on Feb 2, 1940. He is buried in Summerville, MO.
