Clella Petty, 71, of Clovis, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at her home.
Born June 20, 1934, in Clovis to Arter and Adeline Jones Crawford, she lived in Clovis all her life. She married Charles F. Petty on Dec. 24, 1950, in Clovis. She worked for many years at Queens & Teens. She was active in Farmers Union organizations and was a member of the Ranchvale Extension Club. She organized various Ranchvale community activities. A member of Ranchvale Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School teacher for the women's class for many years and later taught the juniors. Family members said she loved people and was an avid sports fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, A. C. Jr., Bob and Don Hays.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Cheryl Herring (and husband, Dale) of Perryton, Texas; a son, Dale Petty (Christine) of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Bryan and Jonathan Petty, Lisa Gershon, Carrie and Kelli Colbert; and six great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Ethan, Noah, Madison, Melanie and Viviana.
Herbert Bergstrom and the Rev. Greg Martin will officiate services. Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories.
The family has suggested memorials to Baptist Children's Home in Portales.
