Susan was born in Madison Twp., Pickaway Co., and at an early age was orphaned, and raised by relatives, who later moved to the vicinity of Findlay, Ohio. A few years after their marriage in Pickaway Co., Ohio, they brought their family to the Cridersville, area, appearing in the 1860 Auglaize Co. Census, and in the Shawnee Twp., Allen Co. Census in 1870 and 1880. After 1880 they moved to Lawrence, Kansas, where he was in the cattle raising business. They appear in the Elk Co., Kansas 1885 Census together. In 1895, after Susan's death and burial in Ohio, there is a listing in the 1895 census for Isaac Crider in Elk Co., KS, aged 68, b. OH.
Susan Searfaus Crider's parents and grandparents lived in the same neighborhood as Isaac Crider's parents and grandparents (Capt. John Dunkle) in Pickaway Co.:

Phillip's father, Christian SERFOSS (b. abt 1758 in PA), appears in an 1806 Tax List in Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH, and moved across the county line into Walnut Twp., Pickaway Co., OH by the time of the 1820 Census (SEFAUS). He died soon after the 1820 Census, as shown in deeds dated 1826 to 1829 in Pickaway Co. In 1780, at the age of 22, Christian served as a Private, class 2, Sgt Carn's Company of the Northampton County militia (Source: Pennsylvania Archives, Series 5, vol. 8, pp. 203, 264, 306, 493, 575).
Phillip's mother was Lavina (Louisa/Lovius) Fellers. It is believed (per deeds) she remarried after Christian's death to Jacob Iler on 13 Jul 1826 in Pickaway Co.
Crider family history states: After Susan's death, Isaac returned to Allen Co., Ohio. However, her tombstone clearly says she died at Cridersville, Auglaize Co., O. Isaac and Susan and family appear in the 1870 and 1880 Shawnee Twp., Allen Co. Census, and in the 1885 Kansas State, Elk Co., Census.
Both are buried in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Allen Co., Ohio.
Isaac was 85 years, 5 months, and 15 days old when he died.
