Alice Pauline Gibson was born to parents Archibald Theodore "Frank" Gibson and Bird (Mickey), Gibson in Gunnison, Colorado where her family had a ranch.

As a young girl her parents relocated to Kootenai County, ID briefly before settling for some years in the Leavenworth, Washington area where her paternal grandparents were living and are buried. Frank eventually moved his wife and daughter Alice to Spokane where they bought a home at 2410 E.Sanson Avenue.

Alice married Elmer Morand Cornelius in 1941. Sometime after her father's death, Alice and her husband and Alice's mother Bird each sold their homes and moved in together to a newly purchased home near the cliff on Illinois Avenue in Spokane near Crestline where the family not only took care of the aging Bird the remainder of her life, but also welcomed Bird's sister Pauline Green to live with them in her decline.

Alice became a loving mother to a son and daughter and was helpful in babysitting her grandchildren. She essentially worked her entire career as a cost accountant through retirement for the local Washington Machinery Company where she had met her husband.

She died in old age of a weakening heart attributed to years earlier having been over-radiated as a course of treatment for breast cancer. Her remains were cremated and are in possession of family.
