Andreas (Andrew) Bornowski, immigrated from Germany to the United States in 1908. He was born in the small village of Trappenfelde, near the town of Gross Lichtenau, Kreis Marienburg. He was sponsored by his half brother Franz Bornowski who was living in Kansas. Andrew lived in Newton, Kansas from 1908 until about 1921 when the family moved to San Diego County, California. The area where he immigrated from is now Poland. He was a very talented man and would hand make violins in the evenings, tediously inlaying pieces of wood. He and his wife Anna,had 10 children. He died in Vista, California.
