Evona Owens was a daughter of William Jereboam Owens and Margaret Ann Klock. Evona married Leo C. Harkey in 1917, and she had one son, Kenneth Allan Owens. Later, she married George Herman Cooper, and they had four children: Maxine Ruth, Donald George, George, and Gale Patricia.
Evona died in Long Beach, California when she was struck by a car while crossing Bellflower Boulevard. She was thrown 99 feet and was pronounced dead on arrival at Community Hospital.
