John Alvin Morton, 31, son of John Henry Morton & Mary Bell Nicholson, died May 1, 1948 from pulmonary edema. He was a coal miner for Westmoreland Mining Company, at the Brenizer Works.

Besides his parents he is survived by his siblings, Winifred, Mildred, Charles Cecil, Evelyn, Harry, Letha, Raymond, Joseph "JR" and Mary Grace.

Burial in Hillside Cemetery May 4, 1948.
