WEST POINT Avis Dunlap Catledge, 82, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. She was a native of Choctaw County and the daughter of the late Charles Vincent and Olivia Young Dunlap. She came to West Point in 1926. She was a former secretary for the First Presbyterian Church. In earlier years she worked with the County Agent’s office and the ASC Department in Clay County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church EPC, where she was a member of WIC.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church EPC with the Rev. Sam Downing and the Rev. David Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Homer Ennis Catledge of West Point; one daughter, Olivia Catledge Portera of Mississippi State; one son, Dunlap Catledge of Aberdeen; four grandchildren, Anthony Catledge Portera of Birmingham, Ala., John Paul Portera of Mississippi State, and Charles Dunlap Catledge Jr. and Aubrey Alexander Catledge, both of Aberdeen; two nieces, Lynn Ruble Davis of Meridian and Delia Dunlap Blackstone of Conyers, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Catledge Portera, John Paul Portera, Charles Dunlap Catledge Jr., Aubrey Alexander Catledge, Donald Smith Davis Jr. and Joseph Andrew Davis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church EPC, Broad Street, West Point, Miss. 39773 or French Camp Academy, French Camp, Miss.
