Charles Cavender, 72-year-old retired city business man, died Wednesday at St. Anthony hospital following and extended illness. He lived at 2626 Northwest Eleventh Street.
Until his retirement four years ago, Cavender and step-son, H, R. Savage, 1223 Northwest Seventeenth Street, operated the Southern Sales Co., a wholesale radio firm. He came to Oklahoma City in 1930 from Pauls Valley.
Cavender came to Oklahoma in 1913 from Iowa. Before moving here he managed five farms in the southern section of the state.
Other survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Milo W Hardaker, home address, and Mrs. Floyd D Tower, San Antonio, Texas; a son Charles E Cavender, Crabe, Texas; another step-son, C. M. Savage, St Louis, Missouri; a sister, Mrs. L E Miller, Denver, Colorado, and a brother, Edward Cavender, Clinton.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Jack Jones Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
