Melia Metcalf married Samuel Byram Fisher on Feb. 7, 1819. She was daughter of Asa and Melea (Ware) Metcalf, and granddaughter or Barnabas and Rebecca (Healy) Metcalf.

Mrs. Fisher possessed a cheerful nature and labored faithfully as a tailoress in Surry and vicinity after 1848 to support herself and family.

Husband Samuel was said to have died in Windsor, VT about 1860.

Children (order of birth not positively known):
* Asa - removed from Alstead to Acworth in 1863.
* Mary Ann - b. 12/22/1819, d. Chelsea, MA 11/25/1865.
* Ssuan E., b. Franklin 10/21/1826, d. in Keene from accident 12/16/1916.
* Harriet C., b. Franklin 10/23/1831, d. in Keene from accident, 12/18/1916.
* Charles Frederick, b. 11/1833, d. Keene 9/5/1837, buried in Surry.
* A son? was born and settled in Greenfield, MA (?)
