WATERLOO - DOROTHY M. HOFFELDER, 92, died Friday, April 2, 2004, at her rural Waterloo home. Mrs. Hoffelder had worked at Kaiser's, Gay's and Hiller supermarkets for a combined total of 27 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in rural Waterloo and its Rosary Society. She graduated from Ashley High School in 1928.
She was born April 24, 1911, in DeKalb County to Frank S. and Elvena (Blomeke) Miller. On Jan. 17, 1934, in Monroeville she married John Hoffelder. He died Sept. 17, 2001.
Surviving are a son, Max Hoffelder of Waterloo; two sisters, Joan Rudolph and Ursilla Smith, both of Waterloo; a grandson, Michael Hoffelder of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Pete Miller, and two sisters, Katherine Walker and Irene Wappes.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Waterloo, with Father David Carkenord officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Calling will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Feller Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. A rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
