Seaborn was usually a name given to a son born at sea but this Seaborn was not born at sea. He was probably named for his maternal grandfather James Seaborn Moore 1807-1869, who was born in Georgia and died in Alabama. However, in the 1860 U. S. Census in Polk County, Georgia the farm next to his family was owned by Seaborn Jones and his wife Louisa, both from Georgia.

His middle name came from his maternal grandmother Elizabeth Smith McCall Moore 1800-1839 from Georgia, who was the granddaughter of Lt. Col. James McCall 1741-1790, who served in the American Revolutionary War. Lt. Col McCall was Seaborn's 2nd great grandfather.

Seaborn was the seventh son of eight and he had one younger sister.

On September 2, 1880 in McLennan County, Texas, Seaborn married Helen Virginia "Hallie" Evans 1865-1933, who was from McLennan County, Texas. She was the daughter of David H. Evans 1826-1870, from Alabama, and Sarah F. Whitman Evans 1830-?, from Virginia.

They had several children together.

Seaborn is the uncle of my 2nd cousin, 2 times removed, Temperance Alice "Tempie" Lockett Rentz Pyle, 1888-1970. Mike Lockett
