Aged Resident Postville Dies
Postville, Ia., Aug. 20 – Hiram Dresser, an aged resident of Postville, died following an illness from a protracted cold which developed into pneumonia. He was born Feb. 26, 1837, at Barnston, Stanstead County, Province of Quebec, Canada, and while very young moved with his parents to Ohio in 1836 and in 1855 to Iowa. April 6, 1863, he was united in marriage to Martha Chase and to this union were born two daughters, one of whom died in infancy. Following the death of his wife in 1905, he went to Alberta, Canada, and resided with his daughter, Mrs. E.B. Carbee.
Funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Schuette of Postville, Rev. J.A. Saathoff officiating. Interment was made in the Postville Cemetery.
