Death of Mrs. F. M. Schuman

Mrs. F.M. Schuman died at her home in Kampsville Saturday October 5, 1901 at 2 o’clock after an illness of a few hours.
The announcement of Mrs. Schuman’s early and unexpected death came to her many friends like a thunderbolt from a clear sky as her death was unexpected. Her disease was appendicitis and inflammation of the bowels.
The subject of this sketch was a kind and loving wife and mother and loved by all her acquaintances. She was a member of the German Lutheran Church and a noble worker in Christianity.
Mrs. Schuman was a member of the Court of Honor and M.P.L. Lodges of Kampsville in which she carried a policy of $1000 in each. She was a Chancellor of the former Lodge and President of the latter.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. Kavash at the German Lutheran Church Monday October 7th at 2 p.m. after which the remains were interred in the Schuman Cemetery, followed by the largest funeral procession ever witnessed in Kampsville.
The deceased leaves a father, mother, husband, two children, and a host of sorrowful friends to mourn her death. To the bereaved relatives the HERALD extends its heartfelt sympathy.
