OLIVER SHAW DIED WEDNESDAY AT NOON
PROMINENT CITIZEN OF TAYLOR TOWNSHIP-IN HIS EIGHTIETH YEAR-LARGE FAMILY OF CHILDREN
Oliver Shaw, aged in his 80th year, a prominent and well-known farmer of Taylor Township, father of Louis Shaw, of Marysville, died about noon today from a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health since last March, and was confined to his bed for some time prior to his death.
He was a son of the late Harrison Shaw, deceased. Mr. Shaw was for many years a prosperous farmer of Taylor Township.
He was twice married, his first wife's maiden name being Miss Elizabeth Amrine. Her death occurred eighteen years ago. By this union nine children were born, seven of whom are living, Louis Shaw, of Marysville; Howard, of near Broadway; Harry Shaw, an undertaker, of Columbus; Avy Shaw of Marion; William Shaw, of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Luther Amrine and Mrs. Don Smith, who resides on the Kenton road north of town.
About sixteen years ago Mr. Shaw was married to Mrs. Emma Schertzer and by this union a daughter, Blanche Shaw, was born, who with the widow and mother also survives. Mr. Shaw was the last surviving member of his father's family.
Mr. Shaw has two children who are deceased by his first marriage, Mrs. Nannie Hamilton, and Mrs. Emma Griffith.
The funeral arrangements are in charge of Undertaker L. H. Miller, of Marysville.
