MR. BEN AARONS , MERCHANT, DIES
Service to be Thursday at 2 o'clock; In City For Half a Century
Death claimed Ben Aarons, well known merchant, at his home 168 W Water St., at 9:10 Monday evening.
Mr. Aarons, who had been a patient at Magnetic Springs Sanitarium for four weeks, was brought home Saturday and while he stood the trip well, his general condition was so debilitated that he was unable to overcome the handicap which an internal hemorrhage, suffered on Wednesday of Last week, had brought him.
Mr. Aarons had been a resident of Chillicothe 50 years. He came here from Parkersburg, West Virginia to join his father-in-law, the late Abraham Levy, in conducting a clothing business. He remained in this business, associated with Mr. Levy for 23 years, and when the firm name changed, Mr, Aarons entered into business for himself. He continued in this until six months ago, when ill health forced him to retire.
Mr. Aarons always insisted that he was young and no date concerning his age, so it is given as 70 in the death certificate.
He was a man who had many friends in the community. He was especially fond of young persons and kept his interest in them until the very last.
Mr. Aarons, after the death of his wife, and since the death of his brother-in-law, the late Myer Cohn, had lived with his sister-in-law, Mrs. Cohn, who made a home for him. He was most considerate of her in every way.
Mr. Aarons was a member of the local lodge of Elks and was greatly interested in harness horse racing during the past 30 years.
The remains are at the Grohe funeral home, where funeral rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rabbi Samuel Cupp, of Columbus, officiating.
Friends may view the remains on Wednesday up until the time of the funeral. Interment will be in the Grandview cemetery.
