Funeral services will be held today for Mrs. Arthur H. Eyles, whose father taught Annie Oakley many fine points of shooting and later married her.

Mrs. Eyles, who lived at 4429 Marple st., died Tuesday at the age of 83.

The former Kay Butler, she was the daughter of Frank E. Butler, who had a well-known shooting act of his own. A widower, he met Annie Oakley in Illinois when he was hunting game. He later gave her a new gun and taught her how to use it.

After their marriage, Butler gave up his own act and became Annie's manager. Mrs. Eyles said once that people used to think she and Annie were sisters.

Mrs. Eyles is survived by her husband and two sons, George Rich and Edward Wagner, both by previous marriages. Services will be held at 9:30 A. M. at William H. Battersby's, 3316 N. Broad st. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Camden.

Catherine Elizabeth Butler was the youngest child of Frank E. Butler and his first wife, Henrietta Saunders. Frank later married famous sharpshooter Annie Oakley.

Catherine was married a total of three times...to John Thomas Rich, Jacob Wagner and Arthur Henry Eyles, Jr.

Catherine's first name has also been shown being spelled as Katherine, who also went by "Katie" or "Kay".
